Galicia, a photo essay

Spain was once my least favorite country to visit, you can thank some very rude Dutch boys at my hostel and a massive week long, city wide house music festival that echoed throughout Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter, all night! Somehow, I keep ending up in Spain! It’s my most visited country. I’ve been to Spain more times than I’ve been to any other state. Spain is now one of my favorite countries to visit and I can’t get enough.

The landscape can be so dramatic on this tiny Iberian peninsula. From the warm Mediterranean to the frigid Atlantic ocean. From Snow capped mountains down to Europe's “largest desert”. Even the people, dialects, and customs can range greatly.

Galicia is a region of Spain that I never thought I’d visit let alone return to 3 times, 1 of those times included me living in Little Lugo. There’s just something about this region that is so enchanting and magical.

This is my first photo essay and one that includes all 3 visits to Galicia. Photos taken with iPhone 6s.

This photo essay was inspired by our upcoming Small Group Wine Tour Through Galicia with master Somm Cha McCoy.

A Pilgrim’s Passport

A Pilgrim’s Passport

Every time I’m in Galicia, I always end up meeting a pilgrim on the camino. But this was the first passport I had seen. Each stamp is an approved town and/or accommodation for one to get their stamp. Once you make it to the Cathedral in Santiago de Compostela, you hand in your passport and get a certificate of completion.
